If you know me personally, you most likely know of my admiration for the artist known as ManWoman, as well as my perpetual efforts to educate anyone who will listen about the true history and meaning of the swastika... If you don't know me personally, and haven't seen/ read about the "Good Luck Swastika" prints in my store, this may sound like crazy talk to you, but before Hitler and the Third Reich came along and soiled its image, the swastika was one of mankind's oldest, most beloved, and most sacred symbols. In many cultures it is still used to this day- the stigma is removed, and the symbol reclaimed. Many others, however, it is still viewed as THE symbol of ultimate evil...
The foremost historian on the symbol was, undoubtedly, ManWoman. Here is a link to his website: http://www.manwoman.net/ .
Unfortunately, on November 13, 2012, he lost his battle with cancer, and moved onto he next big thing... Luckily he left behind not only vast amounts of knowledge and insight, but also tremendous love that has brought together people from all over the world to help carry on his legacy.
In honor of the first anniversary of Manny's passing, over 140 tattoo artists, piercers, scarifiers, and other body mod practitioners from around the world will be offering free swastika services in his memory. I, personally, have drawn up a couple sheets of swastika flash, and will put any of these designs on you FREE OF CHARGE on November 13. Some are designs from around the world, from the Cherokee right here in North Carolina, to Lapland, China, Japan and more, and some are just designs I drew up myself... If you have your own design, bring it in. Most likely, we can put it on you.
I think it goes without saying that I reserve the right to refuse tattoos to neo-nazis, or anyone who wants to perpetuate the hate associated with the symbol. But if you want to share the light, please come on down. I'd love to see you, and tattoo you!
